The data presents Pemex's proven hydrocarbon reserves from 2003 to 2017. Petróleos Mexicanos, commonly known as Pemex, is the state-owned Mexican petroleum company, and has exclusive rights over oil production there. In 2003, Pemex had proven hydrocarbon reserves of some 20.1 billion barrels of oil equivalent. In 2017, this number had decreased to 8.6 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
