The data presents the death toll of selected accidents attributable to the Mexican state-owned petroleum company PetrĂ³leos Mexicanos, commonly known as Pemex, from 1984 to 2017. In March 2017, an explosion that took place at the Pemex plant in Salamanca had a total death toll of eight.
Pemex - additional information PetrĂ³leos Mexicanos (which translates to Mexican Petroleum in English), commonly known as Pemex, is the state-owned petroleum company in Mexico. The company, founded in 1938, had the fourth biggest number of offshore rigs worldwide as of January 2017.
