The data displays the online banking penetration in Belgium from 2005 to 2016. In 2016, 64% of all individuals used the internet for online banking. Usage was higher among those who had used the internet within the last three months, at 75%.
The country has one of the strongest internet banking penetration rates in Europe and the amount of internet banking subscriptions has increased significantly over the last decade. Online banking is also becoming the most popular payment method in the Benelux, especially in the Netherlands and Belgium.
