The data displays the oil production in the top fifteen countries worldwide in 2017, measured in thousand barrels per day. Oil production incorporates crude oil, shale oil, oil sands, and NGLs (natural gas liquids: liquid content of natural gas from which the condensate is recovered separately). Excluded are liquid fuels from other sources such as biomass and coal derivatives. In that year, United States produced around 13.06 million barrels of oil per day on average.
