The data describes the proportion of adults who volunteered in the last year in England, between 2005 and 2017, by those with and without a long-standing illness or disability. Over each of the survey periods shown, the share of disabled and non-disabled respondents participating in voluntary work was about the same. In 2016/17, around 33% of respondents in both groups had participated in at least one voluntary activity in the year prior to being surveyed.
