This survey shows the costs of long-term care providers as perceived by Americans aged 40 years or older, sorted by type of care, as of 2017. The calculated average cost of a nursing home was between 6,000 and 8,000 USD per month. Some 18% of respondents overestimated these costs, while 54% underestimated them.
