Number of organ transplants in the United States by age group 2017

The data shows the number of organ transplants performed in the U.S., by age group, in 2017. During this year, there were 1,363 organ transplants for individuals between the ages of 11 and 17 years old. Organ donation can be given through both a deceased and living donor if blood and oxygen are flowing through the organs until the time of recovery to ensure viability. There are over 120,000 people in the country waiting for an organ transplant.
