Leading U.S. hospitals by organ transplants performed 1988-2017

The data shows the top 10 U.S. hospitals based on the number of organ transplants performed in the period between January 1988 and September 2017. During this period, the University of Minnesota Medical Center performed 9,801 organ transplants in total. Organ donation can be given through both a deceased and living donor if blood and oxygen are flowing through the organs until the time of recovery to ensure viability. There are over 116,000 people in the country waiting for an organ transplant.
