The data shows the Brent Crude oil prices for 2014 to 2017, and provides forecast figures for 2018 and 2019. The price for Brent crude oil stood at an average of 54.15 USD per barrel in 2017. Comparatively, the price of West Texas Intermediate crude oil hit a low of 30.32 USD per barrel in February 2016. Brent is a crude oil benchmark named after the exploration side in the Brent oilfield in the North Sea. It is a light crude oil but slightly heavier than West Texas Intermediate.
