The figures were based on claims of diagnosed concussions among commercially-insured members of Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS). During Fall, the rate of concussion amongst males aged 10 to 19 years was 7 per 1,000 BCBS members, the highest of any gender and age in any season.
