The data shows the percentage of sexually experienced young Americans between the ages of 15-25 that had received an STD test in the past 12 months, by ethnicity. About 5.6% of Hispanic respondents said that they had been tested for an STD in the past 12 months, where as 12.6% of Black, non-Hispanic respondents had been tested for an STD in the past 12 months. Some medical organizations suggest that having more time alone with a medical provider (i.e. without parents) might increase the percentage of youth that choose to receive STD testing and other sexual health services.
