The data shows the percentage of U.S. adults that were concerned about themselves or someone in their family contracting Lyme disease as of 2017. According to the survey, 41% of respondents indicated that they were either very concerned or somewhat concerned about catching Lyme disease. Comparatively, over half respondents indicated that they were not very concerned or not at all concerned about Lyme disease. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted by ticks to humans. If left untreated, Lyme disease can affect the joints, heart and nervous system.
