The data illustrates the total global production of natural rubber from 2000 to 2018. In 2000, a total of around 6.8 million metric tons of natural rubber were produced globally. Until 2017, this amount increased to more than 13.5 million metric tons. In the first quarter of 2018, the production stood at 3.23 million metric tons. Natural rubber is also known as India Rubber or caoutchouc. It is an elastomer mostly derived from latex, a milky colloid produced by some plants, especially from the rubber tree.
