The data displays the total number of residential real estate transactions in the Netherlands from the second quarter of 2014 to the second quarter of 2018. In the second quarter of 2018, approx. 38,604 houses were sold in the Netherlands by real estate agents from the Nederlandse Vereniging van Makelaars (NVM), an association which comprises approx. 75% of the total market. In the first quarter of 2017, approx. 4,165 real estate agents and appraisers were a member of the association.
In recent years, the housing market has continued to rise in the Netherlands due to low mortgage rates, a recovering economy and a high level of consumer confidence.
