The data shows the market share of alcohol sales in the Netherlands in 2015, by sales channel. In this year, sales of alcohol from supermarkets held the biggest share of the market at 53%. Approximately 25% of the alcohol was sold in liquor stores. As this statistic on the alcohol consumption in the Netherlands shows, the majority of the Dutch men and women drink alcohol. Approximately 80% of the Dutch men and 72% of the Dutch women drink alcohol. More life time abstainers are found among the Dutch women: roughly 15% of the respondents to this recent survey said they do not drink alcohol at all.
