The data displays the average order value of U.S. online shopping orders from the second quarter of 2012 to the fourth quarter of 2017. During the most recent quarter, online orders which were placed from a desktop device had an average value of 82 USD. Some online shopping product categories are more popular than others - online jewelry and watch sales in the U.S. grew 39% year-on-year, whereas online consumer electronics sales only increased by 16%. In total, desktop e-retail sales in the U.S. amounted to close to 292 billion USD in 2016.
