As of December 2017, English was the most popular language online, representing 25.3% of worldwide internet users. Chinese was ranked second with a 19.4% share. The top ten languages accounted for 77.1% of global internet users. The large share of Chinese-language content is due to the fact that China is by far the country with the most internet users worldwide. As of March 2017, 731 million online users in China accessed the internet.
