The data displays the results of a survey question on the penetration rate of selected Video on Demand (VoD) services in the Netherlands in 2017. During the surveyed period in 2017, 35% of the respondents indicated they used YouTube for Video on Demand. This was a higher response than for Netflix, which reached a penetration rate of 19%.
As of 2017, the number of paid VoD subscriptions for Netflix services far exceeded the number of subscriptions with other providers. In 2017, roughly 2.4 million households in the Netherlands had paid Netflix Video on Demand subscriptions, whereas the number of subscriptions with the other providers considered was below 400,000.
