The data describes the share of online dating users in the U.S. who have had a negative experience with online dating app or services as of January 2018, sorted by age group. During the survey period, 35% of respondents aged 18 to 29 years stated to have been contacted by someone in a way that made them feel uncomfortable, while 38% of respondents aging from 45 to 54 years reported to have found out someone lied about their identity or that they had been catfished.
