Hurricane Maria, the tenth-most intense Atlantic storm on record which caused catastrophic damages in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and the Lesser Antilles among others, caused the POTUS to tweet 26 times. The death of Heather Heyer, counter-protester at a far-right rally Charlottesville, VA, only elicited one tweet from Trump. The President's official statements generated a large amount of public controversy, especially due to his statement that blamed "both sides" for the violence - a response that was less than well received amidst the current political tensions in the U.
