The data displays the marital status of the United States population aged 15 years and older in 2017, by gender. In 2017, about 11.64 million widows were living in the U.S. whereas the number of widowers was at about 3.28 million. In 2015, there were an estimated 425,357 same-sex households in the United States, 201,779 of which were male-male households and 223,578 female-female households.
