The data displays the number of hate crimes motivated by a person's sexual orientation in England and Wales from April 2015 to March 2017, sorted by offence type. The most hate crimes due to sexual orientation were recorded as public order offences and the next lower number of crimes were found to be violent crimes, of which only about a third lead to the victim's injury.
