Share of women in behind-the-scenes roles in Hollywood 1998 - 2017

The data displays the share of females in behind-the-scenes roles (director, writer, executive producer, producer, editor, cinematographer) in Hollywood in the years 1998, 2006, 2010, and 2012 to 2017. In 1998, 13% of all Hollywood writers were female. In 2006 and 2010 that number fell to 10%, but by 2012, 14% of writers in Hollywood were female. This number dropped again, and in 2014 there were 11% female writers in the movie industry.
