The data displays the connected TV penetration rate in the U.S. from 2014 to 2017. During the survey, 60% of respondents stated they owned a connected TV in 2016, a figure which rose to 64% in 2017. At the beginning of 2017, Americans spent an average of 2.3 hours using an enabled smart TV daily and a further 3.6 hours using internet-connected devices such as Apple TV and Google Chromecast. An estimated 28.9% of households in the U.S. own an enabled smart TV and almost 42% own a games console such as a Sony PlayStation or a Microsoft Xbox.
