The data displays the share of teenagers in the U.S. who play video games online or on their phone as of March 2015, sorted by gender. According to the survey findings, 59% of female and 84% of male teenagers in the United States played video games. As far as the general U.S. population is concerned, NPD reported that the favorite video game genres based on share of sales in 2014 included action, shooter and sports games.
