The data describes the refinery production of zinc in the U.S. from 2012 to 2017. Alaska is by far the most important U.S. state based on zinc mine production. It produces more than 80% of the total U.S. production. Other states with significant zinc production from mines are Idaho, Missouri, and Tennessee. In 2017, the U.S. produced some 130 thousand metric tons of refined zinc at primary and secondary smelters.
