Passenger car manufacturers’ market share in India
Not only is India among the most populous countries globally, it is also one of the world’s biggest markets for automobiles and two-wheelers, trailing only China, the U.S., Japan and Germany. In the 2016-17 fiscal year, about 3.7 million motor vehicles were sold in India, some three million of which were passenger cars.
