The data shows the results of a survey, which investigated the opportunities and challenges of in-store deli/prepared food offerings. About 2,500 U.S. shoppers were polled when they typically decide to buy food items from their local supermarkets' deli department. Some 40% of survey respondents reported to make their final buying decision of deli and prepared foods directly in the deli department, where they are able to see what kind of deli foods are being offered.
