Store numbers of grocery retail chains in Finland 2015-2017, by chain

The data displays the number of stores of selected grocery retail chains in Finland from 2015 to 2017. After the acquisition of Suomen Lähikauppa Oy in April 2016, the number of the K Group stores reached nearly 1,500. In 2017, the number had decreased to 1,284 stores. S Group, the main competitor of the K Group, had 1,040 stores as of 2017. The stores of both the K and the S Group consist of hypermarkets, supermarkets as well as smaller local supermarkets and convenience stores.
