The data displays the value of Chinese direct investments in the U.S. from 2007 to 2017, by ownership. After the record numbers in 2016, Chinese direct investment in the United States has decreased in 2017. That year, China's governmental direct investments in the U.S. had amounted to almost 1.1 billion USD, whereas private investment deals were valued at about 28.3 billion USD.
