UK crime: attempted murders recorded by the police in England and Wales 2002-2018

The data displays the number of attempted murders recorded by police in England and Wales from reporting year 2002/03 to 2017/18. Between 2005/06 and 2012/13 there was a significant decline in the number of attempted murders, from 920 to 412, but this decline went into reverse after this reporting year. In 2017/18 there were 1356 attempted murders recorded, almost double the amount of the previous year.
