UK crime: child abduction in England and Wales 2002-2018

The data displays the number of police recorded child abduction offences in England and Wales from 2002/03 to 2017/18. Throughout this period the number of these offences has fluctuated, although between 2007/08 and 2013/14 there was consistently less than 600 offences per year. From 2014/15 onwards the number of these offences has increased, and in the most recent reporting year of 2017/18 there were 1189 offences, a peak for this period.
