The data displays the number of councils won in England's 2018 local election. In total there were 150 councils up for election, with the Labour Party winning 74 of these. Although the Labour Party won the most councils in this election they were also defending the most seats and didn't manage to increase their overall number of councils. The Conservative Party's total of 46 councils won meant they lost control of two councils overall, with the Liberal Democrats gaining a total of four councils overall.
