The data displays a distribution of respondents to a survey question designed to find out which currency those residing in Scotland think the country should use if, in September 2014, the country votes 'Yes' to become an independent nation. In January 2013, the majority of respondents (79%) said that they thought Scotland should stick with the British pound. George Osbourne, the Chancellor of the UK, said in February 2014, however, that such a scenario is not possible, that an independent Scotland would not be in the Sterling zone.
