Scottish independence: Opinions on European Union membership 2014 survey

If Scotland became an independent country, should it or should it not be a member of the European Union?

The data displays a distribution of respondents to a survey question designed to find out if those residing in Scotland think the country should be a member of the European Union if, in September 2014, the country votes 'Yes' to become an independent nation. In January 2014, the majority of respondents (71%) said that they thought Scotland should indeed be a member of the EU.
