The data displays the projected public sector net borrowing (PSNB) of Scotland and the UK, in the scenario that Scotland were independent from the United Kingdom, from fiscal year 2012/13 to 2062/63, as a percentage of national income.
The model used is that of the Institute for Fiscal Studies from their study entitled ' Fiscal Sustainability of an Independent Scotland '. After starting at a similar level, Scottish PSNB as a percentage of national income is predicted to remain above that of the United Kingdom and experience an increase of 12% during the period in consideration.
