The data displays the number of motorcyclists killed or seriously injured in road accidents in Great Britain between 2009 and 2016, by gender. There were consistently more male motorcyclists killed or seriously injured in road accidents than female motorcyclists, with numbers consistently over ten times higher.
In spite of this, there has been a general decline in the number of motorcycle riders of both genders killed in road accidents during the period of record, with the number of male motorcyclists killed in accidents falling from 5,333 in 2009 to 4,998 in 2015.
