The data displays the number of pedestrians killed, seriously injured or slightly injured in Great Britain in 2015 according to their age group. There were more children and young people who were injured as pedestrians in road accidents than those aged 60 and over, however, this latter group suffered more fatalities than younger pedestrians.
In 2015,. 25 children aged 15 years old and below were pedestrians involved in fatal road accidents, while 173 people 60 years old and over died in similar conditions. Roughly five thousand children were slightly injured in road accidents as pedestrians in 2015.
