The data displays the number of car occupants killed, seriously injured or slightly injured in Great Britain in 2016 according to their age group. The number of fatal casualties from all ages was relatively low in comparison to the number of people who had been seriously injured as car occupants in road accidents, and that far less than the casualties who sustained slight injuries.
In 2016, 6,729 children aged below 16 were slightly injured in car accidents, while 12,594 adults 60 years old and over sustained slight injuries in car accidents.
