The data shows the total number of sales for the leading ten car models in the United Kingdom in 2017. Ford took the top spot with the Ford Fiesta, clearly the most popular model in the United Kingdom with over 94,500 new cars sold in 2017. Volkswagen Golf was the second most popular model with close to 75,000 units sold. Vauxhall, Volkswagen, Ford as well as Mercedes had two models in the top ten. The most popular cars in the United Kingdom tended to be smaller or compact cars.
