The data depicts the number of new passenger car registrations in the UK from 2013 to 2017, by segment. Over the period in consideration, as some of the most affordable cars, superminis were the most popular segment type. In 2016, there were approx. 873 thousand new supermini cars registered. In that segment, Ford Focus was ranked first with approx. 121 thousand registered vehicles. Nonetheless, multi-purpose and mini were the sole two segments that experienced decrease, with respect to 2013, in the number of new cars registered.
