The data shows the sales figures for the top ten highest selling car brands in the UK between March 2014 and December 2017. New licence numbers are issued in September and March and thus, higher volumes of sales tend to be recorded in these months. The top three companies: Ford, Vauxhall and Volkswagen stood out for their high sales, however, all of the brands were subject to the same annual trends. All the brands saw higher sales in March 2015 than in March 2014 except for Vauxhall and BMW.
In March 2017 the leading car company in sales in the United Kingdom was Ford, selling 71,837 and making up for almost 13% market share.
