Number of restaurant employees in the UK 2006-2016, by gender

The data displays the number of employees in restaurants in Great Britain from 2006 to 2016, by gender. Until 2009 more female than male workers were employed in British restaurants, after which the number of male employees began to grow. In 2016 male employees accounted for 453 thousand employees in the restaurant industry, next to 418 thousand female employees.
