BASF death toll of selected accidents 1921-2016

The data displays the number of fatalities and injuries associated with selected BASF accidents from 1921 to 2016, all of which occurred in Ludwigshafen, Germany, where the chemical company is headquartered. On October 17, 2016 four people died and at least 20 more were injured in an explosion at the Ludwigshafen North Harbor terminal. On September 4, 2017 one of the individuals injured in the October 2016 accident passed away.
