At the end of 2016, HSBC Holding's total assets value amounted to approx. 2.1 trillion euro, making the bank headquartered in London the leading bank in the ranking. The assets of The Royal Bank of Scotland (headquartered in Edinburgh) reached a value of over 830 trillion, securing the fourth position in the ranking of the biggest banks listed by assets value.
