Hospital admissions for respiratory disease due to smoking in England (UK) 2000-2017

The data shows the number of adults admitted to hospital for a respiratory disease caused by smoking in England (the UK) from 2000/01 to 2016/17. In 2000/01 there were approx. 152 thousand adults admitted to hospital for a respiratory disease caused by smoking, by 2016/17 the number of hospital admissions had increased to approx. 381thousand, this was the biggest number of admissions during the sixteen year period.
