The data describes the most popular proximity mobile payment apps in the U.S. as of May 2018, by number of users. During the measured period, it was found that 22 million people used the Apple Pay app to make a point-of-sale purchase at least once every six months. The Starbucks app was ranked first with 23.4 million users - this is largely due to the popular order ahead functionality of the Starbucks app.
