The data displays the distribution of payment services in the total number of payments in Luxembourg from 2010 to 2016. In 2016, direct debit payments consisted of approx. 2% of all payments in Luxembourg. The most payments, however, were made with e-money. E-money payments with e-money issued by resident PSPs reached approx. 91% of all payments in the Grand Duchy in 2016. Like in other European countries, credit and debit cards are a popular form of digital payment methods for either physical purchases in brick-and-mortar-stores or for online purchases in the Benelux region.
