The data displays the results of a 2016 survey in which respondents in the UK were asked if they use contactless payment. The data is shows who uses the technology by household income in GBP. There is a clear correlation between household income and contactless payment usage, with wealthier respondents more likely to use the technology. 71% of respondents with a household income of over 125,000 GBP use contactless payment in the United Kingdom. As well as wealth playing a key factor the age of the respondent also had clear correlation with those aged below 34 years of age using contactless payment effects far more than those 55 years and above.
