The data displays the total ATM withdrawals, using bank debit and credit issued in Luxemburg from 2006 to 2016 (in millions). As of 2017, a total number of approx. 19.9 billion withdrawals were made using bank or credit cards from Luxembourg. Like in other European countries, credit and debit cards are a popular form of digital payment methods for either physical purchases in brick-and-mortar-stores or for online purchases.
In 2016, there were approx. 21 POS transactions per card in Luxembourg, compared to 98 in the Netherlands and 67 in Belgium.
